![]() ![]() Regolith can jam sensitive parts and slow down rovers on the surface. Dust and regolith can damage spacecraft and science instruments alike. "The more data we have, the more realistic our simulants can be." The challenge of dust Studying regolith up close could help engineers design future Mars missions-as well as the equipment used by future Martian astronauts. Tirona was the activity lead for operations to collect the recent regolith sample. "Everything we learn about the size, shape, and chemistry of regolith grains helps us design and test better tools for future missions," said Iona Tirona of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California, which leads the Perseverance mission. Called Mojave Mars Simulant, it's made of volcanic rock crushed into a variety of particle sizes, from fine dust to coarse pebbles, based on images of regolith and data collected by previous Mars missions. Engineers designed the special drill bit after extensive testing with simulated regolith developed by JPL. But for the regolith samples, Perseverance used a drill bit that looks like a spike with small holes on one end to gather loose material. As with rock cores, these latest samples were collected using a drill on the end of the rover's robotic arm. Regolith can affect everything from spacesuits to solar panels, so it's just as interesting to engineers as it is to scientists. Most of the samples will be rock however, researchers also want to examine regolith-broken rock and dust-not only because of what it can teach us about geological processes and the environment on Mars, but also to mitigate some of the challenges astronauts will face on the Red Planet. Scientists want to study Martian samples with powerful lab equipment on Earth to search for signs of ancient microbial life and to better understand the processes that have shaped the surface of Mars. Now contained in special metal collection tubes, one of these two samples will be considered for deposit on the Martian surface sometime this month as part of the Mars Sample Return campaign. But unlike the 15 rock cores collected to date, these newest samples came from a pile of wind-blown sand and dust similar to but smaller than a dune. After roughly 3 successful years of development in Minecraft, a standalone was starting to brew.NASA's Perseverance rover collects two samples of Martian regolith NASA's Perseverance rover snagged two new samples from the Martian surface on Dec. From there, things would never be the same. Roughly 6 months after release, around the time of The Walking Dead, the mod went multiplayer with custom servers. Good luck.Ĭrafting Dead started out as a fun little single-player mod for Minecraft. The only limit to the success of your survival is another's bullet. You are placed on a zombie-infested island where the cure is obtainable! Look for loot, craft special items, and fend off the endless masses of zombies! Customize your character with different types of armor, weapons, and content found around the map. Such as melee weapons, guns, zombies, vehicles and NPC types.”Ībout This Game Fight or flight! It's up to you!Ĭrafting Dead is in EARLY stages of development!Ĭrafting Dead is a multiplayer-based survival game with a voxel and post-apocalyptic theme. “I want to get feedback on different people's views of content to add. How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process? No matter the content added or how large it gets, the game's price will not change.” “The price will not change when we leave the early access section of Steam. Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access? The other 60% of the game will be base building, vehicles, NPCs and overall cleaning/optimizing of the game.” The content in the current version is roughly 40% of what the full version will be. “The early access version is a playable game with working multiplayer and dedicated servers. What is the current state of the Early Access version? At the current state, the game is very strait forward.” ![]() “The full version will include more features to the survival game such as base building, vehicles, NPCs, more items (weapons) and improved graphics or optimization. How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version? I also would like this time to add all the features I have planned for the game.” “I can imagine the game will be in Early Access for roughly 3-4 months, maybe longer depending on the bugs and how much feedback the community gives. ![]() Id also want to get feedback from the community as to help develop the game to be the best it can.”Īpproximately how long will this game be in Early Access? ![]() “I would like Crafting Dead to be an Early Access game because this is the first game produced by Ferullo Gaming (1 man show) and there are still some bugs to squish. ![]()
